What do you do if your blood clot feels loose from wisdom teeth extraction?

It has only been 12 hours since my extraction. I tend to drink normally by sucking the water, and after noticing this I tried to stop. However, I accidentally starting doing it again, and now it feels as if the blood clot loosened. I’m scared to death of dry socket, so I’m not sure if there’s something I should do… I tried chewing on a tea packet, but there was no blood so it’s still in place.

Should I use a gauze and remove the blood clot manually since it’s only been 12 hours and pray it starts bleeding again so I can get another clot, or should I just leave it alone and pray it stays in there? Or…something else?

I’m just really paranoid about getting dry socket, my apologize.

Leave it alone. Do not suck up any water or use a straw, the suction can dislodge the clot.Do not chew anything on that side. The bleeding should have stopped by now and please do not play with that area with your tongue. If you need to rinse do it very gently.

Contact your dentist, but it’s only been 12 hours I wouldn’t be worried. Dry sockets can be treated if you have one, and it’s fairly common. I just got mine out a week ago. Good luck, it’s tough to be in that amount of pain for so long!

    Anyone answer mine?:
