What are the risks? Side effects are common and normal, and consist of abdominal cramping, pain, nausea, sweating, and feeling faint during the procedure, cramping and pain for 2 to 3 days following the procedure, as well as bleeding for up to 2 weeks. True complications occur in approximately 1 to 2% of vacuum aspirations. Allergic reactions to anesthesia or other medications given can occur. It is vitally important that you report any over-the-counter or prescription medications as well as illegal drugs so that the anesthetics can be adjusted accordingly. Bacterial infection can occur during the procedure when surgical tools enter the uterus, while symptoms won’t occur for 2 to 3 days after the procedure. This happens most frequently when there is an underlying STD that is not diagnosed at the time of the abortion. Therefore, it is vitally important that you be tested for STDs prior to the abortion. Infection is the most common post-abortion complication. Hematometra, that is, a uterine blood clot, can occur if the uterus does not contract to expel all of the lining. There will be severe abdominal cramping and nausea if this occurs. Heavy bleeding can occur if the uterus fails to contract and may lead to a uterine blood clot, as mentioned above. Heavy bleeding may require medication, a repeat abortion, surgery, and or transfusion. A cut or torn cervix can occur when the doctor dilates the cervix, grabs the cervix with the tenaculum, or inserts the cannula into the uterus. This may lead to a weakened cervix making carrying a future child to term difficult. The uterus may be perforated during the abortion when the doctor rubs the cannula against the walls of the uterus, causing heavy abdominal bleeding and or infection. You may require surgery to repair the puncture, and rarely you may need a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding. Scarring of the uterus may occur, resulting in “Asherman’s Syndrome.” This scarring can occur as the doctor rubs the cannula against the walls of the uterus and can cause future fertility problems. An incomplete abortion, where the pregnancy has been terminated but the baby or other tissue does not get expelled, can occur in an additional 1% of cases, especially those done before 6 weeks, causing severe cramping and excessive bleeding that continues for over a week following the abortion. Emotional or psychological distress can occur after the abortion, including depression, guilt, regret, anger, and/or sleep disturbance.

Suction Aspiration abortion, also called Vacuum Aspiration, is the most common abortion procedure in practice today. For the procedure to begin, the woman’s cervix must be manually dilated with a series of rods to allow for the insertion of a hollow plastic tube with a sharp cutting-tip. This tube is connected to a suction machine that is able to pull the tiny embryo or fetus apart (killing him or her in the process). The remains are sucked out of the mother and deposited into a collection canister. The placenta must then be cut away from the inner wall of the woman’s uterus before it, too, can be sucked into a collection bottle. Suction Aspiration Abortions are not generally performed before the 7th week or after the 15th.
Following conception the fertilized egg implants into the uterine lining (endometrium). The Suction Aspiration uses a straw-like instrument (cannula) that is attached with tubing to a machine that provides light suction. The cannual is inserted through the cervical opening. A light suction that last 15 seconds to 2 minutes empties the lining of the uterus where the pregnancy is implanted.

Thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel, obstructing the flow of blood through the circulatory system. When a blood vessel is injured, the body uses platelets and fibrin to form a blood clot, because the first step in repairing it (hemostasis) is to prevent loss of blood. If that mechanism causes too much clotting, and the clot breaks free, an embolus is formed which may enter circulation, finally lodging in and completely obstructing a blood vessel, which unless treated very quickly will lead to tissue necrosis (an infarction) in the area past the occlusion. If the occlusion is in the coronary artery, myocardial ischaemia is likely to occur, whereby cardiac myocytes cannot function proplerly due to lack of oxygen. This lack of oxygen is then likely to result in a myocardial infarction.

Causes

Increased straining during bowel movements, by constipation or diarrhea, may lead to hemorrhoids.It is thus a common condition due to constipation caused by water retention in women experiencing premenstrual syndrome or menstruation.

Hypertension, particularly portal hypertension, can also cause hemorrhoids because of the connections between the portal vein and the vena cava which occur in the rectal wall — known as portocaval anastomoses.

Obesity can be a factor by increasing rectal vein pressure. Sitting for prolonged periods of time can cause hemorrhoids. Poor muscle tone or poor posture can result in too much pressure on the rectal veins.

Pregnancy causes hypertension and increases strain during bowel movements, so hemorrhoids are often associated with pregnancy.

Excessive consumption of alcohol or caffeine can cause hemorrhoids.Both can cause diarrhea. Note that caffeine ingestion increases blood pressure transiently, but is not thought to cause chronic hypertension. Alcohol can also cause alcoholic liver disease leading to portal hypertension.
Symptoms

Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching, also called pruritus ani, have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as
hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids usually are not dangerous or life threatening. In most cases, hemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days.

Although many people have hemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl.
However, an internal hemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. This is known as a protruding hemorrhoid.

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot This condition is known as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.

In addition, excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching, which may produce a vicious cycle of symptoms. Draining mucus may also cause itching.

We went to the X-ray. And there was no obstruction anymore. And so he continued to live until he was more than ninety, walking along this street, the General Roca street. He was more than 95 when he died, without ever being operated on. As a reward, he decided to give me a present of two works: one from Dr. Jesse Teixeira and the other from Dr. Ricardo Veronesi.

There is a gap of 36 years between these two works, one is from 1940 and the other from 1976. But it gives the impression that one was made for the other, to combine, one to the other. Why? Because while the work of Dr. Jesse Teixeira was limited to the action of auto-hemotherapy in avoiding post-operative infections, the work of Professor Ricardo Veronesi, who is a teacher at the University of Santos , immunology had already advanced much further and it had been discovered that the Reticulo-endothelial System (RES) has many other functions besides fighting bacteria, much more than that.

The main functions of the Reticulo-endothelial System are (in italic, text taken from the work of Dr. Ricardo Veronesi). Dr Luiz Mouras comments and explanations appear in brackets):

1) Clearance of foreign particles from the blood or tissues, including neoplasics (cancerous) cells, toxins and other toxic substances.

2) Clearance of steroids and their biotransformation. (Elimination of hormones, i. e., the steroids).

3) Removal of micro aggregates of fibrin and prevention of intravascular coagulation. (This is why I have auto-hemotherapy, to prevent infarctions and thromboses, cerebral thromboses, infarctions of the coronary arteries, because it prevents intravascular coagulation, it removes a possible clotting that might have happened, as it removed the fibrin that clotted the femoral artery of Dr Garofalo. This is why I use auto-hemotherapy).

4) Ingestion of antigen, its processing and delivery later to the B and T-lymphocytes. (The antigen that produces an allergic reaction, and has a great action on treatment of allergies.).

5) Biotransformation and excretion of cholesterol.

6) Iron metabolism and the formation of bilirubin.

7) Metabolism of proteins and the removal of denatured proteins. (Abnormal proteins.).

Detoxification and metabolism of drugs. (Imagine, the metabolism of proteins and removal of denatured proteins! Now today when it is known that the encephalitis that causes mad cow disease is caused by a prion protein that is denatured. So then, auto-hemotherapy could help in the treatment of this disease.).

Being responsible for so many and such important functions, it is easy to understand the role played by the Reticulo-endothelial System in both a favourable or unfavourable determinism of so many different morbid processes, such as infectious, neoplasics (cancer), degenerative and auto-immune ones..

This was when I started using auto-hemotherapy on auto-immune diseases.

Very well, now the sad thing is that what Professor Jesse Teixeira discovered in 1940 that in 1976 was still being studied in first world countries in rats didn’t have the dissemination it should have had here.
