it's not a fun thing, it starts off feeling like cramps
than bad cramps (give me painkillers!)
than the worst cramps you've ever had in your life(morphine and laughing gas)
than worse ( morphine doesn't FRICKEN work!)
worse again (this is where I started passing out from the pain)
and now, if your body is ready you start pushing
buuuuurrrnninngg (that's your cervix screaming at you)
stretching
burning AND tearing...oh yay me!
and congrats you have a kid!
Also, hello giant. throbbing. placenta.
as I said, it's not fun, but if your ready it's worth it.
References :
i had my first baby 2 months ago and i felt more uncomfortable then in pain i felt like i had the worst cramps ever... i mean whats your pain tolerance some women ( like my sister) cant even stand being pinched.. and when she had her kids she used drugs everytime and said that it was the worse pain shes ever felt.. so it all depends on what you think your body can handle.. i for one didn't think it was oh so bad and i cant wait to have my next baby :) the amount of pain that i felt was minimal.. its a good thing to be curious but you shouldn't have to worry about what it feels like to have a baby not yet enjoy your childhood make your dreams come true then worry about that baby passing through you ;) hope i helped you sweetie.. now go out and play =P
References :
It hurts but it's a pain for a good cause it's not the same as breaking your leg or crushing your foot sure some people may say it feels the same but you don't get a beautiful child out of breaking your leg! Don't let anyone scare you once you are there it's not so bad and once it's over you practically forget.
I have a 3 year old =)
References :
To me it felt like abdominal cramps you get when you have bad diarrhea, only multiply it by 1000. That is the labor part. When the baby came out it wasn't really painful because I was stretched so far it was numb. But the labor lasted 9 hours. I would recommend an epidural, which is a shot they give you in your spine, which numbs you from the waist down. Lots of people do it. I wish I had! Then after the baby comes you must deliver the placenta, which is a big mooshy thing that I thought looks like a heart or a liver. Then after that every so often for the first 24 hours the nurses have to come and pressure massage the uterus from the outside, that hurts too!
References :
I am the mother of two beautiful daughters, and I unlike most women now-a-days, I opted to birth my children without drugs. My first daugher was 9LBS and her labor spanned over 2 days and was a total of 19 hours -- I did it completely natural, and let me tell you that I thought my cramps/passing huge clots was bad, UNTIL I gave birth. The contractions are unlike anything you've probably ever experienced... and mine were worse because I had induced labor, and was given pitocin, which made them even more intense. Afterward, I described it to one of my friends by saying that I could feel the contractions in my toe nails -- I was not kidding either. But the amazing thing is that after you give your final push, and you're able to see your child, it all immediately goes away, and it is like you almost forget how awful it all was. It was the easiest pain to forget. That being said, I chose to go the natural route with my second child (even after everything I went through with #1... however this time without being induced. The contractions were still bad, but less intense. Had my baby not gotten stuck coming down the birth canal on my pelvic bone I think I'd have only been in labor for 4 or 5 hours. But... she did, and I was in labor without pain meds for 15 hours, at 12 hours they started to give me pitocin to increase the strength of my contractions, and they got to the point where I was screaming so loudly I was freaking out the other women delivering on the floor. My labor nurse kindly talked me into the epidural, and once it was administered I was able to get up and walk during the contractions and help push the baby down the canal, and into the world. BTW, Baby #2 was 10LBS and my total labor was 20 hours! That all said, I think if there is a baby #3 I would still opt for natural child birth, because it is better for the baby, and I know I can do it! Good Luck, and I hope my description hasn't scared you!

i havent had any children.. but my said that when she had me that is was very painful.. more painful inside then the "something large coming out of a small area" like the contractions and inner pains were more painful and very intense. but its seams like just when you think it is too much to bare and you dont have anymore strength that is when the baby just pops out. but of course its different for all women.
References :
it's great not only do you have intense pain but you will most likely pee, poop, barf, and fart in front of ten people who will be staring intently at your vagina
References :
It's almost like trying to stretch your mouth and cover your head. Of course, the baby's head won't be that big and your cervix is more flexible.
References :
Honey 1st of all your way to young to be thinking about babies. i will answer your question though as honestly as I can. It hurts like hell. being in labour you feel like your constipated and the cramps get harder and harder and they really hurt, this can go on for 24 hours. Than when the baby decides to come its like pushing a watermelon through an orange, Think of the worst pain you have ever had and times that by ten.
