Do I have a Blood Clot, Torn Pec. or a cracked Rib?
So about a week ago i started feeling a slight pain in my chest right where my pectoral muscle is. I ignored it for a day or so thinking that it would eventually just go away. Then i was carrying a heavy load of shingles up a ladder about 3 days later and when i twisted the pain was unbearable. i went through about 4 days of amazing pain before i decided to go to a physician. i told her my story and she was alittle dumbfounded she drew my blood for a d-dimer and gave me some hydrocodiene for the pain. I had been taking the hydrocodiene and 4 200mg ibuprofen twice a day for 3 days and had excellent results, all of the pain basically went away other than when i move my arm in certain ways. I am planing to go back to work tomarrow but my physician called today and told me that my d-dimer results came back elevated. i dont know if i need to get an x-ray or if because of the fact that my pain has gone away i’m good? what do you think?
An elevated d dimer is consistant with blood clots, your dr shound have told you to go straight to the ER
