Fat is another Life-Stream For a Healthier Life

November 9th, 2009

The quest for a substitute started us on a road to trans fats, coronary disease, and raised blood pressure. Not till twenty years back did we eventually discover the hazards of trans fats. How Did Trans Fats Enter our Food Supply? In the 1860s butter was in great demand and there just wasn’t enough to satisfy everyone. Emperor Louis Napoleon III offered a prize for a substitute .. And so, the 1st margarine was created by a French chemist. It was made from explained meat fat.

It was not till forty years after the process of hydrogenation was developed ..
And the door to perilous trans fats was opened. Butter rationing during 2 worlds wars and the cheaper price of marg .. Had more folk changing to this butter substitute — made of inexpensive plant fats. When plant oils are hydrogenated .. Their molecules are chemically re-arranged. This produces a fat — trans fat — that becomes semi-hard at 70 degrees. We are naturally drawn to the taste and the consistency. The semi-solid trans fats are excellent for baking .. And not pricey like butter or lard. And the rationale trans fats are found in most baked products — as well as fried foods. While this inexpensive alternative option to butter is a perk for the food makers ..
It’s a perilous bust for consumers. In America alone, a computed 100,000 folk die prematurely each year .. Thanks to the use of trans fats. So What’s so Bad About Trans Fats? Trans fats have the worst effect on your cholesterol levels of all fats.
They drive up your levels of’bad’ LDL cholesterol .. At the same time lowering your levels of heart-protective HDL cholesterol. Trans fats’ overall effect on your cholesterol levels is .. Twice as bad as the effects of saturated fats. Lately, trans fats have also come under fire for damaging the liner of your arteries. It’s this damage that leads to toughening of the arteries and higher blood pressure. When these critical linings become damaged, their function is impaired — leading to high blood pressure. How are you able to Avoid Trans Fats? Though trans fats were first utilized in marg .. Most margarines have eliminated this dangerous fat. However they are still found in numerous baked products and fried foods. Actually, because of their lower cost and convenience — trans fats keep foods from spoiling — hydrogenated oils are being used even more.
Keep clear of donuts, chips, pastries, junk foods .. Even the allegedly healthy granola bar frequently contains this threatening fat. Check labels conscientiously .. Ultimately, a bit of help from the FDA luckily, it starts to get simpler to find these threatening trans fats — and avoid them. As of Jan 2006, the FDA is requiring food makers to list the trans fat content .. On the Nutrition Facts label found on all products. Even a bit of trans fats in your diet is bad for your heart health. Actually, some fats will even help you lower your blood pressure.

What Does a Blood Clot Feels Like?

October 23rd, 2009

It is usual for your blood pressure to vary in the day. When it stays high, you have raised blood pressure, or high blood pressure. This increased pressure puts a tax on your heart that may lead to a coronary. It also is affecting other organs in the body like the kidneys and brain. There are actually hundreds of prescription medicines for treating blood pressure but certain life changes can also have favourable effects on blood pressure.

According to the nation’s Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, over ninety percent of US citizens have or will have raised blood pressure in their lifetime. When blood pressure reaches 115 over seventy five, the damage to the body has just started. For each twenty over ten increase, the damage essentially doubles. According to a state survey, seventy percent of US people are conscious of their elevated blood pressure, 59% are being treated, and 34% have it in order. A balanced diet of fruits, veg, whole grains, lean proteins, and fat-free dairy products should make up the majority of your eating plan. The decreased pressure effect of this diet change is commonly the same as taking a blood pressure medicine. Maintaining a healthful body weight reduces your odds of developing raised blood pressure. Proved calorie reduction methodologies include eating smaller portions, using lo-fat or fat free products, and limiting sugar intake.
Exercising just twenty to half an hour a couple of times a week can produce dramatic results. The exercise can include anything like walking, biking, or gardening. Heart Problem??? ……………………….?

August 30th, 2010

Uh. So lately, i have been having these 10 minute periods where my heart feels weird….I feel pain when i breath in deeply and it kind of feels like there is pressure. It feels like what i think a blood clot feels like…(I dont know what a blood clot thingy feels like)…and i haven’t gone to the doctor yet because i have had these every several weeks….i dont know if i should be worried or not worried at all because this happened for several months now…and nothing bad has happened. yet….I am a somewhat healthy eater i guess….i do have asthma, and i have had bronchitis….

It would be helpful to know your age and whether you have any medical issues besides asthma. Please keep in mind that many things can lead to chest pain including heart issues, lung issues, heartburn, anxiety and musculoskeletal issues. There is no way for us to determine the cause of your chest pain over the internet and you must see the doctor. The pain you are describing is not typical of heart disease and I think heart disease would be very unlikely. Asthma can lead to chest pain and this is certainly a possible cause since you have a history of asthma. You need to make sure you are working with your doctor to ensure that your asthma is well controlled. Blood clots can travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and lead to chest pain and shortness of breath. The chest pain with blood clots tends to be sharp and worsen when coughing or taking a deep breath. The only way to determine if a blood clot is a possibility is to be evaluated by your doctor.
